Fall conference + The Discipline of Grace = Awesome

Hello all! Fall conference is coming up and I'm getting super excited about the bonding I will get to have with the girls. We only have two freshman going but they are great and I am looking so forward to getting to know them better.
I get to come home for two days on October 23 and 24. The 24 is my friend Jason's wedding and earlier that day I am going bridesmaid dress shopping with Catherine who is getting married in April. I am her maid of honor so I get to have a say in dresses :) I can't wait to be home for a bit! Then that Sunday I leave for intern training in Atlanta. I think that will be good, seeing the other interns will be great!

I don't even know if anyone reads this, but if you do, sorry I haven't posted in a while.

I have really enjoyed getting to know the students that come to RUF. I have had such a good time talking with them and hearing where they are coming from. I also have a group of friends from church now! This is really a blessing.

My parents came up yesterday to visit. Being an only child I am very attached to my parents, I really miss them. Saying goodbye today was really hard. Way harder than it should have been. Even though I know I'll be in Rock Hill in a month I still miss home. This job can be really lonely, even with friends. Pray for me?

And so it begins...

Hey! So... I'm in Lynchburg now! I have actually been here for three weeks so sorry for not posting anything sooner. Training at the end of July went really well. It was great to see the other interns again. I moved on August 8th after coming up to Lynchburg twice before that to move my stuff up. Yes, it took me three trips. Moving on - my phone died the day before I came and I lost all of my numbers, after a three week battle with Verizon I finally got internet last week, and as of today I have finally stopped having car problems (hopefully). I have had major car issues the whole time I've been up here. So needless to say the past three weeks have been super frustrating. However, there are lots of great things that have happened! I have a wonderful neighborhood so I get up every morning at 7 and I run in said neighborhood. We had our first RUF large group meeting Thursday night and it went really well. I had my first one on one with a freshman that day too and that went well. After locking myself out of my apartment this afternoon I went on an RUF event and it was fun, I got to know some of the RUF students and freshman better. I also have another one on one tomorrow. Also, my parents came up yesterday and spent the night with me which was great! It was so good to hang out with them. So what I am getting at is that God is faithful and I need to trust Him more. Thank you for all of your prayers. I will post pictures or something soon. Love, me.

training is coming... did you bring your coat?

So training is coming up on Monday and I'm so excited, not only is it the new interns and campus ministers like last time but everyone will be here this time! I am getting to spend some quality time with my new friend, Lizzy, the night before we leave. The Lord has really blessed me with the other interns. Raising support has lots of ups and downs but the Lord has been very faithful.

Lord willing when all my pledges come in who have not "officially" pledged... I am at 75%. I want to be hesitant when I say that because not everyone has put that money into my official account. But in my records I am at 75% now. YAY!!! Thank you so much for your prayers everyone, keep praying, I'm still $7,949 away from the total amount needed.

Financial update

Hello! As of today I am at $22,705!!!! I am only $1,186 away from being cleared to move and I am $9,149 away from the total needed amount. Yes I realize that is still a lot of money... money I'm not completely sure I know how to raise, but God has been faithful thus far and He will continue to be. One thing I ask prayer for is that the pledges I have will come in. My records say 22,705 but that is not an official number until people send in the amount we discussed so I am anxious to see my next official financial update. Thank you all so much for the support and prayers. I love ya'll.

Y'all I am so encouraged. I have been discussing finances over the past two weeks pretty vigorously. The amount of pledges and actual money I have in my account has put me at a little over $20,000. I have a little over $3,000 left to raise to get to Lynchburg, and about $12,000 left to raise by May 2010. I want to weep for joy when I see how faithfully God has brought me this far. Y'all are amazing. Thank you for letting the Lord use you. I am so thankful and so blessed. I love you all.

No kicked in doors for me...

Hello! So as of July 3 I now have an apartment to call my own! I am thrilled about the place. It's a triplex and there is a great neighborhood beside it so running will be convenient. Support is coming along and I will let ya'll know when I get to 75%. Hopefully that will be this week.
I have training coming up on the 27th and I am very excited to see my new friends again. I chaperoned at RYM for my church last week and was very pleased to see to of my fellow 1st year interns and meet one of the second year interns. John Stone was there too which was exciting. For those of you who don't know John works for Reformed University Ministries. He's not really my boss, but I sort of view him as one of them so it was awesome to go to one of his seminars.
I won't make it a habit to discuss how I feel in my blog. But at least for the support raising period I might add that I am a little nervous. People keep talking about how they are really coming to the "end of themselves." I have no clue what they are talking about but apparently I have to do it. It sounds painful. Typical sanctification. Maybe I'll let you know when it happens.

By the way, for all your theological book needs, I made a few friends at RYM who work for this website. http://www.goodtheology.com Check it out. Thanks Dean and Dean!
